Omaha.comFarmer and son find $20,000 blowing around on the highway, gather it all up, and hunt down the owner. We need more people like this around. Heck, we need the media to emphasize this more too!

Segway owners beat each other with homemade mallets The Register's take on Segway Polo.

Garry Trudeau talks about Iraq, the coming election and his old classmate George W. Bush "The Iraq adventure, however, was crippled by a fatal arrogance from the onset. The Powell doctrine of using overwhelming force to reach achievable goals with a clear exit strategy -- conceived in reaction to mistakes made in Vietnam -- was summarily discarded, inviting nearly all the consequences the doctrine was designed to avoid."
Exactly. The arrogance of this administration is one of the things that 'rubs me the wrong way' the most.

Well, it looks like Ford will beat Toyota to the punch, bringing out an SUV hybrid, the Ford Escape Hybrid. Not much horsepower, but that's part of the point. 31-38 mpg is great for an SUV! While the hybrid model is 3K more, the federal tax credit you get for buying it esentially takes that right back off.

Gulf Wars Episode 2: Clone of the Attack Oh, this is terrible... and funny!

Stargate fan-site operator busted under anti-terrorism law: "His online friendship with other Stargate fans across the globe was portrayed as an international conspiracy against the MPAA"..."The FBI's computer crimes staff is either incompetent...or else they just don't give a damn."

My synical vote goes to.. They're so drunk with power, they don't give a damn. And unfortunately, the major Media (news?) outlets don't give it coverage, so until we hear about the FBI busting a 'little old lady' and her online quilting friends, this kind of thing will continue. People, speak out!

jonglestylo It's odd, the things that trigger memories. There were friends of mine that did this (spinning pens & pencils around fingers) in school, back in the late 80's..

It's great Prairie Inet recently made the Broadband Wireless Exchange's Top 10 Wireless Internet Service Providers list at #3! However, if they don't adjust their bandwidth-pricing model, they'll eventually be brushed aside. They have adjusted it since I last looked at their services, but they're still 3x comparable DSL and Cable services.

Why don't we have a CSPAN-like public cable channel that covers our state government?

Why wireless will end piracy and doom DRM and TCPA - Jim Griffin The RegisterI love finding intelligent people talking intelligently about topics they actually know about. (instead of the usual alternative- spouting on about something they don't actually know about.) This is text from an interview with Jim Griffin, a former executive of a recording company ('record label' seems so out-dated), in February.

Oh, I love some of these quotes --
"The war is over. The public has won. The only question left is how we ought to be paying for it."

Seattle is replacing their metro bus line with hybrids this time 'round. I see no reason we can't do that here. (or anywhere else for that matter)

Neowin.net - Microsoft takes Windows Update away from the pirates As a shareholder (only one of millions, I know), I'm torn. On the one hand, yeah -they didn't pay for they're free ride, and now they'll have to pony up. (or...->) On the other hand, this may persuade some of these guys to jump ship to Linux. Which may not be a bad thing.. discuss...

More on MS: In a blow to Microsoft's reputation, CERT recommends anything but IE. For those who don't know, CERT is one of the most respected non-commercial security organizations. In fact, post 9-11-01, the US branch was melded into Homeland Security. The only possible worse thing would be Scott McClellan telling us not to run IE!

Wait... There's more! Only days after the above, a writer at Slate, a Microsoft owned website, recommends Firefox!
